The seminar will give an overview of the activities of Visual Computing Lab. ISTI-CNR in the context of Cultural Heritage. An overview of the challenges that had to be faced between the 90s and now will be given.
The presentation will mostly focus on two problems which have been investigated, but still show open issues: material acquisition and web presentation. Some of the proposed methods will be described, together with some possible future directions of research.
Matteo Dellepiane.
Matteo Dellepiane is a Researcher at CNR-ISTI. He received an advanced degree in Telecommunication Engineering (Laurea) from the University of Genova in 2002, and a PhD in Information Engineering from the University of Pisa in 2009.
He’s currently leading the “Graphics for Cultural Heritage” branch of Visual Computing Lab, ISTI-CNR, Pisa. His research interests include 3D scanning, digital archeology, color acquisition and visualization on 3D models and web visualization.
